Hannah's Journey

What could bring an Amish widow and a wealthy circus owner together? Though Hannah Goodloe knew she'd violated countless unwritten laws, she had to visit the only man who could help find her runaway son. But when the enigmatic Levi Harmon agreed to take her on his train, the results were utterly unpredictable.

Levi never expected to find the embodiment of all he wanted in a woman in the soft-spoken, plainly dressed Hannah. And for Hannah, to love an outsider was to be shunned. The simple pleasures of family, faith and place to belong seemed an impossible dream. Unless Levi unlocked his past and opened his heart to God's plan.

Talk about worlds colliding! Who could imagine plain folk and the big top in the same story? It worked for me.

What a treat is was getting to know Hannah, her father-in-law, and her sister-in-law. Hannah had the determination only a mother worried about her child knows. Gunther, her father-in-law, was the head of the family and what he says goes – even if it wasn’t his idea at first. Pleasant, her sister-in-law, took a little while to get to know and appreciate, but I found her to be a force to be reckoned with.

As I read of how these three witnessed to Levi’s circus family it made me think on how I witness to those around me and how hard it is for me. What a difference from being on the farm this read was. Pick it up for a ride through a different world. Just make sure you take a tissue or two with you.
